FLASHCARD MAKER

HOW TO MAKE FLASHCARDS ONLINE FOR FREE

  1. Type or paste your terms, one card per line, as term - definition. A colon or a tab between them works too, so you can paste straight from your notes or a spreadsheet.

  2. Tap Make my flashcards. No account, email or download needed.

  3. Flip each card, then mark it Got it or Still learning. On a computer, press Space to flip, the arrow keys to move, 1 for still learning and 2 for got it.

  4. Shuffle the deck, study only the cards you are still learning, or tap Print cards to make paper flashcards.

HOW TO STUDY WITH FLASHCARDS (SO THEY ACTUALLY WORK)

Flashcards work because they make you pull the answer out of your memory before you see it. That effort, called active recall or retrieval practice, is one of the best-studied ways to remember what you learn. Re-reading notes feels easier, but testing yourself is what makes facts stick.

  • Say or write the answer before you flip. If you just think "I know this", you are not really testing yourself.

  • Keep each card to one fact or idea. Split long definitions into two or three cards.

  • Study in short sessions spread over several days instead of one long cram session. Go back to the cards you are still learning first.

  • Mix the order. Shuffling keeps you from memorizing the list instead of the facts.

FAQ

Is this flashcard maker really free with no sign-up?

Yes. It runs right in your browser, so there is no account, email or download. Your cards stay on your own device.

Can I print my flashcards?

Yes. Tap Print cards to print your deck, then cut the cards apart to study on paper.

Do flashcards really help you study?

Yes, when you use them to quiz yourself. Trying to recall the answer before flipping the card is what builds memory, so always answer first and then check.

How many flashcards should I study per day?

There is no magic number. Many students do well with 15 to 30 cards per session, then come back to the hard ones the next day. Short daily sessions beat one long session.

Can I make flashcards from my notes?

Yes. Put each fact from your notes on its own line as term - definition and paste it in. To turn a photo of your notes into flashcards automatically, try the free TutorLoop app.
